For D2C brands on Shopify that keep books in Tally

Find the money your payouts didn’t bring home.

Tessera reconciles your Shopify orders, GoKwik or Easebuzz payouts, Shiprocket COD remittances and bank statement. It shows which money never arrived, how much and why, drafts the claim to get it back, and posts the right entries to Tally once your accountant approves.

Works from the files you already download. No marketplace logins, no API access.

Why money goes missing

Payouts arrive as one net number

Each gateway settlement nets fees, GST and refunds across dozens of orders. A short credit looks like every other credit in the bank statement.

COD cash sits with the courier

Delivered orders are remitted days later in batches. One that is skipped, or remitted short, rarely gets noticed.

Nobody has time to tie it out

Matching thousands of orders to payouts to bank lines by hand in Excel is the job that slips every month.

How it works

One month, four files, one answer.

Your Shopify orders, GoKwik or Easebuzz settlement report, Shiprocket COD remittance and bank statement go into matching, then eight checks. Payouts that arrived in full go to you for approval and are posted to Tally and read back. Anything missing or short becomes an exception with its evidence and a claim draft.

  1. 1

    Upload four files

The exports you already download. Each is checked as you add it.

  2. 2

    Match every rupee

Order to payment to payout to bank, strongest evidence first.

  3. 3

    Run eight checks

What’s missing, how much, and the rows that prove it.

  4. 4

    Claim and post

Drafts for the gateway or courier; approved journals into Tally.

What it checks

Eight checks, every run.

Each check is a fixed rule with a tolerance you set. The same files always give the same answer, so your accountant can follow every number back to a line.

RuleFlags whenAmount reported
R1Payout not in bank. A settlement has no matching bank credit after three days.Full payout
R2Payout short in bank. The bank credit is less than what the gateway settled.Difference
R3COD not remitted. A delivered COD order has no remittance after ten days.COD amount
R4COD short remitted. The courier remitted less than it collected.Difference
R5Refund not in gateway. Shopify shows a refund the gateway never paid out.Refund amount
R6Prepaid order never settled. A paid order has no payment anywhere in the gateway report.Order total
R7Fee above agreed rate. The gateway charged more than your MDR for that method and date.Excess + GST
R8Double refund. One order was refunded more than it was ever paid.Excess

Your books, your call

Built the way an accountant would want it.

No AI in the numbers

Matching and checks are plain rules. A language model only helps word the claim emails, and every amount, date and ID in them is filled in from your files.

Nothing reaches Tally without approval

Each payout becomes one journal: bank, gateway charges, input GST, refunds and clearing. Shortfalls go to a claims receivable ledger so the books balance while you chase them.

Posted once, then checked

Vouchers are numbered by UTR, so the same payout can never be posted twice. After posting, the connector reads each voucher back and compares every ledger and amount.

No open doors on your network

The Windows connector only connects out to Tessera. Prefer not to install anything? Download the Tally XML and import it yourself.

FAQ

Questions accountants ask.

Do you need access to Shopify, GoKwik or our bank?

No. Tessera works from the export files you already download. It never logs in to your store, gateway, courier or bank.

Our gateway file has orders with no order number. Does that break it?

No. Payments without an order number are matched to the Shopify order of the same amount placed within minutes. If two orders could fit, Tessera lists the payment for you to pick rather than guessing.

Our MDR changed partway through the year.

Agreed rates carry an effective date per payment method, so each payment is checked against the rate that applied on the day it was made.

Do we have to install anything?

Only if you want Tessera to post into Tally directly. The connector is a small Windows app on the PC that runs Tally. Otherwise you download the Tally XML and import it.

Does it post our sales too?

Tessera posts settlement journals: what reached the bank, the gateway charges, input GST and refunds against your clearing or COD receivable ledger. Tell us how your sales reach Tally today and we’ll fit around it.

What about Flipkart and Amazon?

Flipkart settlements are next. Amazon isn’t supported yet.

Our bank or courier isn’t listed.

Each pilot starts with the formats you use. If yours is different, send a sample and we’ll tell you how quickly we can support it.
